Meet Sonal Dalvi, Your Counsellor
My counselling is grounded in my education, professional expertise, cultural understanding, and lived experience. I come from a well-educated, close-knit, intergenerational Indian family. That gives me a deep, practical understanding of how families work across generations. It helps me relate naturally to the realities of Indian households while addressing the challenges of modern life.
With over 15 years of professional counselling experience, I have supported individuals, couples, adolescents, and families from diverse educational, social, and cultural backgrounds, both in India and internationally. Clients have come to me with a wide range of concerns, including addiction-related challenges, extra-marital relationships, sexual identity concerns, adoption-related issues, and conflicts between parents and teenage children. I have also helped couples and families navigate complex emotional transitions with clarity and care.
My approach combines traditional values with practical, evidence-based strategies, so that every situation is handled respectfully and thoughtfully. Many clients have found meaningful resolution and better emotional well-being through our work together, in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental setting. As an Indian professional who understands family life across generations, I help clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported as they work towards positive change and healthier relationships.
I prioritize confidentiality, informed consent, and professional boundaries at every stage of counselling. Because I run my practice personally, I can offer flexible scheduling with an "available when you are" approach, which makes it easier to reach out when you need support. In-person sessions are held in my private, quiet consulting room in Mulund East, Mumbai.
